Grandma Do Do and Pappy in Town

It was great to have grandma and grandpa here. I loved watching them interact with the kids. It was also the first time we had the three Daison's together. We had a great time. Their visit always seems to end too soon. Thanks for your support Mom and Dad. Just yesterday Maelyn was playing outside and asked me to come get in her rocket ship because we were going to blast off to go see Grandma Do Do.

Daison Scott Baby Blessing

What a great weekend! We had many friends and family that came to support us. Thanks to all those who came - it was great to see all of you. We had a great turn out at church, Grandma Pat put on a nice spread for everyone after, and we all enjoyed hanging out with friends and family. How cute is baby Dais in his outfit!

Working on the yard

Large pile of bark chips for my playset, yeh!!!!

Daddy found a worm and Maelyn thought it was cool to hold it.

SLURPEE!!!!!!

Maelyn had her first Slurpee experience. We were given a buzzer at the instacare for a 2 hour wait, but the radius was only 2 miles and we live further than that. I decided to drive to the 7-11 down the street and introduce her to Slurpee's. She picked out the flavor and finished every last drop in the cup. She also discovered that the spoon straws they give you don't really work all that well. After handing me the cup every few sips she learned to hit the bottom of the cup herself and then asked me to get her a new straw because hers didn't work. Even though she was sick, she smiled while she was drinking her Slurpee.

Innocent honesty of a child

I had just been to Quilted Bear to purchase a hat for a gift and picked up what I thought was a very cute grey hat that was similar to this one. My hat has a cute decorative design in white and pink on the side of the hat. I tried on the hat and was happy with my purchase. Normally I don't really like how I look in hats but this was was particularly cute and my hair is longer so I thought I might be able to pass as one of those cute mom's with a cute hat. The next day I needed to run a few errands and hadn't scheduled enough time to get ready. I got the kids ready and put on my new hat and some sunglasses to head shopping. As I was putting Maelyn into her car seat she was looking in the rear view mirror of the 4-runner and says to me, "mom, you look funny in that mirror." I supposed I shouldn't have followed up on the comment but I couldn't help it. "I look funny in the mirror?". "Ya, you look like a guy!"

Lock Up Your Daughters

Daison bought the baby a T-shirt.
Should I be worried that my sweet boy might turn out to be a player like his daddy? Ha Ha

Mom's Make-up

I hadn't heard Maelyn for a few minutes and figured she was into something. Just as I was walking to find her she came around the corner holding my mascara and had already put some on her eye lashes. She actually did a good job and continued to place the brush on her lashes and blink. She is trying to grow up too fast and wants to do everything mom does.

I did get a great picture of her eye. How did I get so lucky to have a blue eyed child.

Happy Easter

Non-traditional Easter this year. Daison had to work Sunday morning at 6:00 am. He was also playing in a softball tournament all day Saturday. We celebrated Easter at 11:00 pm Saturday night when Daison got home from his games. Good thing she is 2 and doesn't know the difference. She was excited to get a basketball hoop, "chapskit", and some candy. She quickly figured out that if she stood on the base of the basketball hoop she could slam dunk and make it every time.

Coloring Easter eggs was also a lot of fun. Maelyn's hand was dyed bright orange but it only lasted a day or two. She had a great time putting the stickers on, coloring pictures, and coloring the eggs. What a fun mess that was.

Easter was very uneventful for Baby Dais. Doesn't he look excited?

I am such a slacker!

Well....I have a lot of catching up to do and I am going to try to do it all at once. Two Maelyn comments:
#1. For a couple weeks Maelyn wouldn't let me put pony tails in her hair. I finally talked her into it one day telling her that we couldn't go shopping unless she let me do her hair. I tricked her with bribery and candy and it was successful. After we arived home from the store the first thing she asked me was to take her hair out and she proceeded to pull on the elastics. After pleeding with me a few times she finally looked at me and sternly said, "But they are bugging me mom. My shoes are bugging me and my pony tails are bugging me so I need them out!"

#2. Maelyn's logic skills at age 2. I was trying to get her ready. Every time I am getting ready Maelyn wants to know where we are going, so I was giving her the run down of the day. We had to go to the doctor's office and then we were going to go to a really cool toy store to look at toys. I explained the plans several times before we were actually loaded in the car. As we pulled out of the driveway she was in deep thought and asked, "Mom...how about we go to the toy store first and then to the doctor's office because then I could have some toys to play with while we are at the doctor's."
