PRESCHOOL FIELDTRIP TO THE PUMPKIN PATCH

Mr. Dabb scared all the little kids by pretending to be a scarecrow and then taking his head off.

Miss Amy with a pumpkin head

Maelyn's first preschool fieldtrip. The kids each got a pumpkin and laughed at the pumpkin man.

SUNDAY BEST

Maelyn's new church dress. So Cute!

Couldn't get any cuter

FOLLOWING IN DADDY'S FOOTSTEPS

Sorry, I am never going to remember that I can't rotate the video's. Oh, well you get the point. Dais is exceptionally good with his eye hand coordination.

HAIRCUT

Maelyn and Dais were outside playing and drawing with chalk on the back patio. Here is evidence of her belly chalk mark on the chair with foot prints facing the cupboard.

This is the evidence that Maelyn pushed the chair over to the cupboard to get the scissors

And the final result is Daison looks like he got in a cat fight. The picture doesn't quite show how bad it really was. He had bald spots all over his head and some right to his scalp. Thank goodness for kid scissors or he may have gotten nicked.

Maelyn also cut herself some bangs before Daison realized what she was doing. Luckily he caught her before she continued any further. Such a long day after all of that getting in trouble.

PT FRIENDS

Yvonne Savarise, Aja, Korryn Wiese

Yvonne & Lo

Korryn and I were waiting to board our flight for Texas when one of my professors from the U walked by. Turns out she was going to the same conference we were. Her good friend Yvonne was also meeting her there. The four of us had a great time eating good food, laughing, reminiscing, and learning. I had no idea Lo was so much fun. She expected so much out of us in school and it was more of a teacher student relationship. She was a lot of fun in a social setting. I learned a lot and had a great time with good people.

CINEDOME 70

The Cinedome 70 Theateer was demolished on October 18, 2010. It has been a monument of Riverdale, UT for 40 years. Daison always had the dream to buy it and turn it into the largest Hooters Restaurant. It was such a great theater with two huge rooms with a big stage and a wrap around screen. Too bad we didn't win the Lottery.

TEXAS

I had a AAOMPT Conference in San Antonio, Texas. It was the first manual therapy conference I had been to. I was amungst many of the "big wigs" of physical therapy. The Alamo with beautiful trees surrounding the landscape. I loved the river walk. I enjoyed many hours walking along just enjoying the atmosphere. The river walk also had an outdoor cathedral with the seating on the other side of the river.

I love this picture. We ate under those umbrela's at one of the famous mexican restraunts in town.

PRIMARY LESSON

They were giving a lesson on repentance in primary. They discussed about doing things you shouldn't and what you should do about it to make it better. Toward the end of the lesson they asked the primary "so if you do something wrong how do you fix it?" Maelyn yelled at the top of her voice, "YOU GLUE IT!"

120 MINUTES OF...

Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto

A minority at the symphony - a sea of silver hair. A chance for an evening of formality and class. Not sure exactly what to expect. First introduction Stravinsky Fireworks. Music starts again. Where does the music begin, where does it end? Program indicated Part I, II, and III with Hilary Hahn, yet the instruments never stop. Nothing sounds the same, no chorus, no repetition of sound. A simple pause then the musicians just keep playing and playing. Several pauses, several movements to begin clapping, but no - the music continues. Parts or movements? A movement is a self-contained work separated by silence within a larger work. Usually, each movement is destinguishable by its tempo, key, rhythmical patterns, and harmonization. Oh, the pause indicates a movement! Yet not a movement to applaud.

Firefly's fill the air, picture if Disney moveis flash through my mind. A general respect for this unknown man they refer to as conductor. Thierry Fischer, short in stature with a passion for music. Giant toothpick in his hand representing precision and flow with each movement. Looking well distinguished at this first appearance. Then begins the wrestling with his suit jacket with quick jolting movements. Head bobbing back and forth, back bends, forward bends, side to side, on one foot, bent down low. Soon this distinguished conductor begins to resemble Albert Einstein.

Well accomplished young girl stands out in her red gown. Hilary Hahn. Precision of touch and movement surrounds her. Technical brilliance.

Lamp shade in the tuba. Wyatt Earp on percussion. Poor man sitting attentively at the grand piano for 90 minutes waiting for his first contribution. Anticipating intermission, gentle rustle of the crowd as they return with new music to fill their homes. One final number anticipated.

Final performance 30 minutes, sitting, waiting, shuffling in the seat, watching for the turn of the last sheet of music. At last, a breath of cool fresh air.

But, we fulfilled Daison's class assignment

SCHOOL PICTURES

Scanner wasn't working and the picture quality from my digital camera didn't turn out. I was done making efforts so it is a little blurry. Cute pic though.

CREATIVE ART

I read in a magazine about putting washable paint in waterbottles and letting your kids squirt on a sheet. I assumed washable paint would come out. However, we went inside and I left the sheet to dry in the sun. It didn't come out.

ONE LAST SWIM

Darlene invited us over for one last swim before Gary closed the pool. We went over after church, ate dinner and swam for a few hours. Dais was more interested in watching the boys play and Maelyn was having fun swiming around. Alec put this Mickey Mouse hat on Dais and he wore it around for the rest of the night.
Dais likes to put one of Maelyn's princess shoes on and walk around the house.

He used to do it with my shoes and then figured out that Maelyn's fit much better

If you comment on his shoe he will bend over and point to it with a big smile like you are recognizing how pretty it is. What a sweet boy!

Maelyn wanted a picture in her Belle dress but Dais wouldn't get out of the way.

GETTING CRAFTY

I wanted some new cute clips for Maelyns' hair. I went to buy flower clips and was too stubborn to pay 4-6 dollars a piece. So I decided to make her some myself. I stayed up late to finish them why she layed asleep on the couch. The next morning when she woke up I got the response I was hoping for. She took one look at took a deep breath in as an act of excitment and ran over to give me a hug. Mom those are beautiful, thank you so much for making these beautiful things for me.

MERRILL RESEMBLENCE

They look like they could be related!
They are through Fileman C. Merrill.

Interesting turn of events. One of my friends at Weber State invited me to go to a Colors concert in about 1998. She said they were a band from her high school (Davis High) and they were very good. She had a crush on one of the band members Ryan who played precussion. We enjoyed the concert and I could understand why she had a crush on Ryan because he was definately attractive. After the concert I went out to purchase a CD, and to my surprise my cousin Malinda was behind the counter selling their music. I asked her what she was doing there and she proudly anounced that she was dating one of the band members and had met him at Utah State. My friend was disappointed as much as a groupie can be to find out that my cousin was dating her crush. In the back of my mind since that night I always thought to myself that Ryan was one of the most attractive men I had ever seen and I would love to date/marry someone that looked like that. Well, in December of 2002 I met him. Dais resembled Ryan yet was more attractive! I am a lucky woman.

COLORS

Opening was Ryan Innes originally from Thatcher, AZ. He now lives in Utah. He is related to the Mayberries in St. David and the Richins in Benson. He has an incredible tone to his voice.

Colors: Ryan Merrill, Brian Tibbets, and Russ Dixon

Ryan came all the way up the stairs to the lawn and asked the girl right next to us for a word for Russ to rap. I really wanted to yell and get his attention but then I remembered I am 31 and I can just talk to him after the concert.

COLORS CONCERT

How did I match my hair, eyes, and shirt.

Maelyn, Amy, and I went to the Colors concert at the Sandy Amphatheater. Brings me back to college days. This is Maelyn's second concert and her first was this same concert a year ago with Amy, Daison, and I.

The same cheezy grin

Maelyn sat on Amy's lap through half of the concert.

Scott and Jen came over to say hi at intermission.

GRANDMA MAXIENE'S HOUSE

Peach Days was more of a tradition when my grandma was alive. We would sit in front of the old bank she used to work at and then go to her house for food and treats. I had to walk by and take a picture of her home. Great memories of this house and I was glad to see it well kept. In fact the wooden bench was hers and they had kept the planters and hanging baskets the same. Not much has changed on the outside. Sure do miss her!

PEACH DAYS SOFTBALL TOURNEY

Maelyn had fun climbing this tree while we watched Daison play in the softball tournament. His team didn't play as well as he would have liked. Not sure what place they took.

PEACH DAYS PARADE

It took Maelyn and Ben a while to figure out that they were supossed to pick up the candy off the road. I was surprised how quickly they got burned out.

Annie and her friends decided to choreograph a dance and enter their "float". Perfect teenage activity to stay up all night giggling and laughing.

Dais just chilled in the stroller for the whole parade. I would slip him some candy now and again to keep him content.
Maelyn is practicing her photography skills. She loves taking pictures with my camera and she decided my shoe was a perfect prop for her puppy.
