September
Maelyn has to do everything her brother does and vice versa
September 19, 2009: Dais learned how to click his tongue
September 24, 2009: Dais started walking behind a toy train
September 26-27, 2009: I played in a softball tournament in Wendover. My first one playing infield and managed to bring home an MVP jacket
Maelyn was playing with toys in the living room. We have a shelves with toys in our living room and she had decided to dump out a basket looking for a specific toy. When she found it she walked into her room and continued playing. A few minutes later she returned to the living room. As she stood looking over the pile of toys on the floor she looked at me in the kitchen and pointed to the toys and said, "Moauom! You forgot to clean up my mess".
THE DAVID
Baby Daison's first air plane ride at 8 months. The kids did very well even having to change planes. We had a great time. The first night the kids were dancing in the kitchen and showing us their moves. Maelyn decided to be polite and say, "excuse me", every time she wanted my attention. Grandma had a bunch of fun activities planed like homemade bubbles, swimming, slip & slide, making pizza & cinnamon roles, and quad rides. I watched my first 8 man football game. We went and caught some frogs at the pond for Maelyn. I didn't want any part in holding them but my husband thought it was a necessary activity for me. Needless to say he won. The best part was we had a great time hanging out with the family and watching our kids interact with their cousins.
Tomato Days in Hooper
What an aweful ending to the day. The paraglider crashed into the crowd when attempting to drop sponges on a windy day. I was holding Maelyn in the middle of the field and Daison was holding the baby in the shade. The paraglider split the two of us. Usually Maelyn would have been down running around, but just before he came over she said she wanted to be held and layed her head on my shoulder. Thank goodness because there were three children hit and three adults. Daison was a first responder to the lady in the yellow and several others once she was life flighted. What a scary day!!!
SEPTEMBER

Ears Pierced
Daison took Maelyn to get her ears pierced. She picked out the white gold earings with pink flowers. She said it hurt and she cried but that is was ok because she had earings in her ears.
Pieces of August
Maelyn has discovered coloring books and loves to color and paint
One Sunday Maelyn, Baby Daison, and I arrived early to Mazie and John's for dinner. We were anticipating the arival of Maelyn's favorite friend Ben. I announced that Ben had pulled into the driveway and we should go outside to see him. Maelyn promptly got off the stool, ran down the stairs, opened the front door, and ran out onto the ledge of the porch. Placing her arms out to her side she announced "LOOK WHO IS HERE GUYS.............IT'S ME MAELYN"
SIBLING RIVALRY: Maelyn has learned that tormenting your little brother can be fun. This is a subject I know nothing about and do not understand. Nor do I have any tolerance for it. Except in this situation I found it a little ammuzing. Baby Daison was trying to fall asleep in his car seat. His sister took note and every time he was almost asleep she would yell really loud. He would wake up and cry and she would get a big smile on her face like she accomplished something. This scenerio continued for several rounds before I had to put a stop to it. Poor little guy.
WHEN YOUR CHILDREN SWEAR CAN YOU GET AWAY WITH BLAMING IT ON SOMEONE ELSE? I was watching my friends kids Tripp and Ridge for the day. Maelyn and Tripp were having a good time running around. They were playing on the bed in the computer room. From the other room Daison heard Maelyn say, "Oh shit, Tripp is stuck!" Daison walked into the room to assess the situation and asked Maelyn what she said. She looked at him as innocent as can be and said, "oh shit, Tripp's foot is stuck". I am blaming this one on Grandma Pat.
Daison and I went to the Jon Schmidt concert at Wolf Mountain Ski Resort. It was nice and relaxing to sit outside and listen to the music.
Too BIG
Dais has outgrown his bassinet and is ready for his own crib.
"Maybe if I just push really hard then...."
Mandy Came to Visit
Aunt Mandy was in town. Somehow the only proof I have is that Maelyn decided to wear her shoes and necklace for dress up.
Wait... I stole a pic off her blog, she really was here.
Neighborhood Party
Every year our bishop, Greg Simpson, and the neighborhood band get together to play at the retention pond. The kids run around and play while the adults get to enjoy the music. It is a great time, plus it is fun to see bishop as a rock star.

We went out to dinner the night before, to the Raptors game, and then to see The Proposal.
